Red sanders auction put off again
The AP Forest Department once again put off the e-auction-cum-sale of red sanders scheduled to be held from Friday. No date has been fixed for the new schedule, an official release said on Thursday.

Hyderabad: The AP Forest Department once again put off the e-auction-cum-sale of red sanders scheduled to be held from Friday. No date has been fixed for the new schedule, an official release said on Thursday.
The department has notified global tender on September 12 for the sale of 4160 MTs of of red sanders logs by e-tender-cum-e-auction, to be conducted between October 10 and October 17. But meanwhile the National Green Tribunal, Chennai, basing on a petition, issued an interim stay on the global tenders. The State government filed petition against the order passed by the National Green Tribunal and AP High Court in its order admitted the writ petition filed by the State government and granted interim orders staying the orders of National Green Tribunal.
In view of the above court litigation, the number of prospective Indian and foreign buyers especially from China could not deposit the pre-bid deposits (EMD) before October 1. Similarly in view of national holidays, all the banks in China were closed from October 1 to October 7, which prompted the State government to defer the auction.
