TS govt to reimburse fees of AP students, too
In a major development, the Telangana government has decided to reimburse the fees of Andhra students studying in Telangana.

Hyderabad: In a major development, the Telangana government has decided to reimburse the fees of Andhra students studying in Telangana. According to the Minister for Education G Jagadish Reddy, the TS government would recover fee reimbursement from the Andhra Pradesh government on 42:58 basis. All the arrears would be cleared in a month, he said. It may be mentioned here that initially the TS government had said that it would bear the burden of fee reimbursement only for Telangana students. This led to a controversy and the matter is now pending in the High Court.
Meanwhile, the AP government had offered to share the burden of fee reimbursement. The TS government has decided to accept the proposal.
The Minister said fee reimbursement would be released in phases. In the first phase the government would release about Rs 500 crore.
