TDP leaders mired in controversies

• Lok Sabha member Kesineni Nani lands in controversy by allegedly occupying land
• Another MP’s name is bandied about in controversial land dealing at Agiripalli village in Krishna district
• MLA Boda Prasad has allegedly employed someone to write exams on his behalf

Vijayawada: The TDP leaders in Vijayawada, which is to emerge as a focal point in Andhra Pradesh, seem to be determined to tarnish the image of the party. The leaders, on gaining power after a gap of two decades, are displaying such an arrogance that is creating problems for Chief Minister for N Chandrababu Naidu.

Vijayawada Lok Sabha member Kesineni Srinivas alias Nani has exposed himself to criticism by refusing to vacate the open land he occupied in the heart of the city near Pundit Nehru APSRTC Bus Station. He has taken the land from one of the party sympathisers for using it as parking place and promised to vacate it after the elections.

Apart from it, the name of another Member of Parliament is bandied about in a controversy relating to purchase of land at Agiripalli, near Nuzvid. Though the reports about the twin controversies are being highlighted by the media and people are openly talking about them, both the MPs have not so far clarified their position.

To top it, Penamalur MLA Boda Prasad was accused of employing someone to write examinations on his behalf. He, too, has not so far responded to the criticism. On knowing that the Chief Minister has taken serious view of Prasad’s egregious act, he is reportedly to be in a state of bewilderment. When it comes to the Vijayawada Central constituency MLA Bonda Umamaheswara Rao, his son’s action in allegedly organised car race, leading to death of one of his friend, has landed the legislator in controversy.
