Members of the club have so far covered Kondapalli Khilla, Gangineni and Guntupalli hills and Paritala forest as part of their expeditions. Many students and professionals have evinced interest in joining the club and to go on expeditions. The page with nearly 800 followers has been liked by 355 members from the city. The active members who take part in expeditions also includes teachers, doctors and students. They embarked on a climbing expedition on Independence Day and hoisted the national flag atop the Kondapalli Hill.

Raghunadh Reddy and Kaluva Suresh who are nature lovers, came together to form the Vijayawada Adventure Club to explore the city. Both share a common interest- trekking-which shaped the Adventure Club.

Suresh says, “I love trekking and will try to go on adventure tourism destinations to be part of nature and its beauty. Activities like trekking and paragliding will take the whole experience of seeing the nature’s glory to another level. About three years ago, I met Raghunadh with the same intentions and from there after; we planned to go on treks once in a while. We have also scaled the Himalayas.”

Sharing their experiences, the trekkers say that they have found several waterfalls on the Kondapalli Hill. It is an ideal place for trekking which can be tapped to promote tourism.

“It is very safe to trek the Kondapalli Hills. Trekking gives self-satisfaction, boosts confidence and improves concentration. We do not encourage littering the path while trekking and see that all the stuff is disposed once we come down,” the trekkers said.
