Hyderabad: The rivalry between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh over parking of funds came to an end on Friday. Chief Secretaries of both the states resolved the issue in a meeting they held. They agreed write a joint letter to banks not to freeze current accounts and release money upon requests from both the states.



AP Chief Secretary I.Y.R. Krishna Rao on Friday called on his Telangana Counterpart Rajiv Sharma to discuss issues relating to both states, including freezing of accounts by banks. They shared the opinion that if current accounts are frozen, they will not be able to pay salaries to employees. They agreed to write a joint letter asking banks not to freeze current accounts.

On the other hand, Freezing of fixed deposits did not pose much problem. The money in FDs could be taken by both the governments after the Centre settles the issue. Both the chief secretaries directed the drawing officers of the respective states to write joint letters to banks not to freeze the current accounts and allow drawing of funds.
