Hyderabad: Demanding an apology from the Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to the farmers for reneging on his promise to write off farm loans, YSR Congress on Friday said it exposed the TDP government’s anti-farmer stance.

YSRCP president YS Jaganmohan Reddy along with party senior leader M V Mysoora Reddy reviewing with party functionaries from Visakhapatnam district, in Hyderabad on Friday
“Naidu is now saying that he only promised to waive crop loans and not agriculture loans. It is a total lie. The media advertisements on his swearing-in day and his speeches to the run-up to the elections clearly showed that he had promised waiver of all agriculture and DWACRA loans.,” Convener of the Party Farmers’ Cell M V S Nagi Reddy told reporters here on Friday. Right from the padayatra in Ananthapuram to the electioneering, Naidu time and again said all agriculture and DWACRA loans would be waived and asked the farmers and women groups not to repay loan as they would be written off after TDP came to power. He also gave an assurance to the Election Commission that the scheme was feasible and TDP had worked out the implementation part. After assuming office, TDP government had diluted the waiver scheme and the Chief Minister was lying through his teeth that he did not promise waiver of agriculture loans.
