Telangana, Andhra Pradesh CMs in development race

If people think that Andhra Pradesh and Telangana chief ministers Chandrababu Naidu and K Chandrashekar Rao are only waging bitter battles and indulging in a war of words, then they are mistaken. They are silently in the development race too.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has been hopping from one country to another to get inputs to make a world class capital for his state. On the other hand, his Telangana counterpart too is doing some groundwork while keeping it low key and away from the eyes of the media. KCR after announcing Telangana's new industrial policy also identified land suitable for setting up industrial parks on the city outskirts. KCR is concentrating on allocation of land for Cinema City and Pharma City and he will be going on an aerial survey of Ranga Reddy, Nalgonda and Mahbubnagar districts along with officials and industrialists on Wednesday.

The CMO has maintained utmost secrecy on the survey, but insiders say that the government has already engaged 3-4 helicopters for industrialists and senior officials from industries and revenue departments.

Collectors of Ranga Reddy and Mahbubnagar have identified 4000 acres of land of which 2700 is suitable for industries as KCR is keen on laying foundations for Cinema City and Pharma City. KCR according to sources has decided to have Pharma City in 5000 acre and Mucherla Village in Ranga Reddy district has been zeroed in for the purpose.

For the Cinema City, officials are promising Rachakonda Hillock area situated between Nalgonda and Ranga Reddy district. The location is already famous for film shootings. But the main problem is prior to state division the land had been leased to the Army in 2013 to set up Rachakonda Field Firing Range in 5,630 acres though work is yet to commence due to opposition from locals. It remains to be seen whether KCR will takeover the land from Army or not.
