On the orders of the Guntur Urban Superintendent of Police, the two constables, who allegedly sexually assaulted the woman, were identified and taken into custody. According to information available, the constables, who were on night patrolling, came across a woman along with her friends. They threatened her friends and whisked her away to a place near Gowri Mattam and raped her. As the woman went to Nandyal without lodging a complaint, a police team was sent to bring her back.
