Woman bus passenger robbed, A woman Seethamahalakshmi (55) was robbed of her gold ornaments and gold chain while she was on her way from Vijayawada to Bheemavaram in an APSRTC bus here on Tuesday.
Bhimavaram (West Godavari): A woman Seethamahalakshmi (55) was robbed of her gold ornaments and gold chain while she was on her way from Vijayawada to Bheemavaram in an APSRTC bus here on Tuesday. According to reports, she was made unconsciousness by one of her co-passenger by offering food mixed with some intoxicant drug. Then, he robbed her of 10 tolas of gold.
When the bus reached Bhimavaram Bus Station, the bus conductor noticed her lying unconsciousness in her seat. He took her cell phone and rang up her son Srinivas Rao who is a doctor. She was shifted to a hospital where she was undergoing treatment in the ICU in an unconscious state. Her condition was said to be serious. The Bhimavaram police booked a case and took up investigation. Such type of incidents targeting senior citizens and women are on the rise in the district.
