Japanese firms to make sizable investments
Several Japanese companies were showing keen interest to make sizable investments in Andhra Pradesh, especially in the power sector including harnessing the green power, State Energy Secretary Ajay Jain said on Saturday.
Hyderabad: Several Japanese companies were showing keen interest to make sizable investments in Andhra Pradesh, especially in the power sector including harnessing the green power, State Energy Secretary Ajay Jain said on Saturday.
Delivering the keynote address at the high level conference of ‘Andhra Pradesh Power Conclave- 2014’ here, Ajay Jain said power industrialists came forward to set up manufacturing plants of wind and solar panels in the State in a big way during the recent visit of the official delegation led by Chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu to Japan. He said the investors would soon visit the State to study the business opportunities in the power sector.
The official said several measures including strengthening the Transmission and Distribution (T and D) network, harnessing green power such as solar and wind have been made to realise the targeted energy savings apart from enhancing the consumer service enabled with IT initiatives.
