Two teachers arrested for sex offence
Two teachers, one of them retired headmaster, were arrested in Challapalli village in Krishna district on Sunday on the charge of having sex with a minor girl and thus caused her death.

Vijayawada: Two teachers, one of them retired headmaster, were arrested in Challapalli village in Krishna district on Sunday on the charge of having sex with a minor girl and thus caused her death.
Retired headmaster Perumallupeddi Sivarama Prasad and English teacher Chiruvolu Janardhanprasad were charged with an offence under “Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act” following a revelation that they had sex with a minor girl.
According to police, Sivaprasad, when he was the headmaster in a Zilla Parishad at Vakkalagadda village, 3 km away from Challapalli, and Janardhan Prasad compelled a minor girl to satisfy their carnal desire. As the girl, aged 16, became pregnant, the teachers forced her to go for abortion thrice. It led to the girl becoming seriously ill. She died while undergoing treatment in a private hospital in Vijayawada two months ago, the police said.
Investigation into the case, the police said, revealed that Sivaprasad had first compelled the girl to have sex with him. Janardhanprasad later coerced her into submission by threatening to make public the illicit love affair.
Parents of the girl preferred not to lodge a complaint with the police, though the teachers forced the girl to satisfy their carnal desire for over three years. Based on a complaint lodged by a student union, the police registered a suo moto case and arrested the teachers.
