Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Special Representative Kambhampati Rama Mohan Rao on Friday met the High Commissioner of Australia in India, Patrick Suckling, and his team of officials to present ‘Advantage AP’ as an investment destination for Australia.

During the meeting, the Australian High Commissioner while assuring all the cooperation to the State government said so far his country had identified four areas of possible cooperation. They include Natural Resources, Mining and Energy sectors, Education and Schooling sector, Efficiency and Profitability of Agriculture and Dairy sectors. Patrick said the Austrian Federal Minister for Trade and Industry would be visiting India in January next.

He would accompanied by strong delegation of 400 CEOs of the Australian Industries. And, suggested that the visiting delegation would like to meet the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, N Chandrababu Naidu. The High Commissioner has also said the Australia was keen to set up packaging unit with an investment of 500 Million Dollars in the State.

He also pointed out that 15 per cent of deaths of Global Road Accidents has been taking place in India with just one per cent global vehicle population. He said Australia could help in extending all possible help in road safety as well. He also agreed to make necessary protocols, if the AP Chief Minister wishes to visit to interact with the Australian entrepreneurs and welcomed such a move from the State government. The AP special representatives have also invited the high commissioner to visit the State.
