Tirupathi: Vaikunta Ekadasi is on its way. That means Tirumala is getting ready for its fill of mythic celebration on the seven hills. Officials of the Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanams are gearing up for the auspicious Vaikunta Ekadasi. This year adding to their merry, it coincides with New Year ’s Eve.

The TTD board is predicting the huge masses of devotees of Lord Venkateshwara this time and is making all efforts to ensure that the important occasion passes off smoothly. TTD officials led by JEO K.S. Sreenivasa Raju inspected the arrangements at Tirumala on Saturday.

According to the sources, Board has decided to suspend ‘Divya darshan’ to trekking devotees on New Year’s eve and Vaikunta Ekadasi, in anticipation of a heavy turnout of devotees. The temple administration was contemplating reducing the number of ‘VIP passes’ for that day to ensure that most of the common devotees are not denied the privilege of the Darshan of Lord Venkateshwara.

TTD also took the decision to cancel privilege darshan for donors, physically challenged, senior citizens, NRIs and others on New Year's eve and Vaikunta Ekadasi.
