Nellore: Every eligible farmer would get the loan waiver by submitting the documents to the officials in the second phase, said District Collector M Janaki.

She was the chief guest at the Farmers’ Empowerment programme held at Turimerla in Dagadarthi mandal of Nellore district on Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Collector said that 300 farmers at Turimerla have benefited from this scheme. The farmers in Nellore district the names of whom were not listed in the loan waiver scheme should register their names by giving Aadhaar, ration cards and Pattadar Passbooks at the Mee-Seva Centres, Tahasildar offices, she added.

After scrutinising these papers, loans of eligible would be waived and loan cancellation documents would be handed over to the farmers, she stated. She said that five lakh farmers have benefited through this scheme in the district and in the first phase loans of 1.80 lakh farmers have been waived.

A special cell was set up to receive complaints on loan waiver scheme and the farmers could lodge their complaints by making call to phone No. 8886613632 or through Mee-Seva Centres, she explained. Later, the Collector handed over the loan redemption documents to the farmers in the village.

Agriculture Department Joint Director K V Subba Rao, Kavali RDO Narasimhan, Turimerla Sarpanch Venkamma, ZPTC members M Padmavathi, Dagadarthi Mandal Special Officer Koteswar Rao were present at the meeting.
