Tirupati: As a prelude to the three-day state conference, AITUC members took out a bike rally in the city on Thursday.

The rally which was flagged off by CPI district secretary Ramanaidu at Ambedkar statue went through Nethaji Road, Gandhi Road, Tilak Road, Leelamahal Junction, ROB, Lakshmipuram circle and finally returned to the same place.

Speaking at the gathering, AITUC district president Harikrishna said that the state-level conference would be held from December 27 to 29 here to discuss the working class problems and to chalk out future course of action against anti-people and anti-workers polices being adopted by the State government.

He said the government instead taking up more initiatives for the welfare of the working class, repealed many of the existing laws meant for their benefit.

AITUC town secretary Murali, CPI town secretary Penchalaiah and others were present.
