Nellore: Alleging that the school bus driver’s negligence caused the tragic road accident at Teepanur village on Monday, students unions staged a dharna at the main office of Ravindra Bharati Educational Institution in Nellore on Tuesday. The SFI activists burnt the effigy of the school, while students of NSU staged a protest in front of the school. The school management declared a holiday on Tuesday as several students unions were agitating.

SFI district secretary MV Ramana demanded the higher officials to take action against the school management and also pay an ex gratia of Rs 10 lakh to the kin of the deceased and Rs 5 lakh to those who injured in the accident. He also demanded the government to seize Ravindra Bharati School immediately.

Meanwhile, agitations took place in Gudur on Tuesday. All educational institutions observed bandh voluntarily. The students Joint Action Committee continued their agitation at Clock Tower Centre in Gudur on the second day also. The District Children’s Welfare Committee demanded the government to take immediate action against the Ravindra Bharati School management. Committee member Jayaraj said that they would stage a protest on Wednesday.
