The minister asked the scientists of the National Institute of Oceanography and Pune-based Central Water and Power Research Station to prepare a report in six months and suggest measures to arrest the erosion. If the erosion was not arrested, sand would disappear from the beach and like Mumbai, the water would be touching the retaining wall. About 300 meters of sea road, retaining wall disappeared in the early hours of the day and the police blocked the road for the pedestrians and vehicle for safety.
