Expedite Beach Festival works, officials told

Kakinada: District Collector Neetu Kumari Prasad directed the publicity and cultural committee members of Kakinada Beach Festival to expedite works relating to cultural and publicity programmes, keeping in view the dates fixed for this event from January 10th to 12th. Participating in a review meeting for this event in her chambers at the Collectorate here on Friday, she said that the cultural programmes should reflect the culture and tradition of our State and attract a large number of people to this event.

She also suggested them to seek cooperation of Rajahmundry MP Maganti Muralimohan, in organising mega cultural event during Sankranti.

She said that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu would also attend the inauguration on January 10. She asked them to make necessary arrangements in this connection.

She reviewed various presentations shown to her by the organisers of the mega event and asked the cultural committee members to finalise the agency for this festival. With regard to publicity, the District Collector asked the committee members to give wide publicity through hoardings in the municipalities, cine slides in the theatres, posters and video clippings through cable networks for the general public. The District Collector said that sports and cultural programmes would be organised under the banner of “Yuva Tharangalu” in this festival, in which competitions on cultural programmes like Carnatic, Hindustani, Kuchupudi , Bharatanatyam, Odissi ,Kathak and sports events like cricket, kabbadi, ring ball, basket ball would be organised every day for three days from 11 am to 6 pm. Kite competitions to attract kite lovers were also planned in the event.
