Imparting knowledge on the tradition of Sankranti
Imparting knowledge on the tradition of Sankranti, School director T Sridhar and principal T Sri Vidya said that the objective for organising Sankranthi celebrations in the school was to create awareness amongst the kids about traditions and culture.
Students of Sri Shirdi Sai Vidyaniketan in Rajahmundry celebrated a unique Sankranti on Sunday. Kids dressed up in attires of farmers, Basavanna, Haridasu, Komma Dasari, Dhanya Lakshmi and traditional astrologers which enthralled the audience. It was a treat to watch the kids sing and dance around the Gobbellu and perform the feats of Basavanna. Children also arranged ‘Bommala Koluvu’ with traditional dolls.
School director T Sridhar and principal T Sri Vidya said that the objective for organising Sankranthi celebrations in the school was to create awareness amongst the kids about traditions and culture. They felt that kids might not have time to celebrate Sankranti in school as it it will closed for the festival and hence arranged for it early.
