Tirumala Darshan tickets at HPO, A special counter has been opened at the Head Post Office (HPO) here for the sale of Darshan tickets of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD).
Vijayawada: A special counter has been opened at the Head Post Office (HPO) here for the sale of Darshan tickets of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD). City Police Commissioner AB Venkateswara Rao formally inaugurated the counter at the post office here on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, S V Siva Prasad, Senior Superintendent of Post Offices, Vijayawada division, said the sale of Darshan tickets was taken up, in association with the TTD, at nine Head Post Offices on a pilot basis initially.
“Now, the TTD has come forward to sell the special Darshan tickets costing Rs 300 each and Rs 50 Sudarsanam tickets through 95 post offices in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Two laddus (prasadam) will be given to devotees on each Darshan ticket. The validity of the ticket is 30 days. Anyone can buy the ticket at the counter from 10 am to 4 pm. The ticket holder should carry identification proof at the time of visiting the temple at Tirumala. As of now, there are four slots for the issuance of Darshan tickets which are 9 am, 10 am, 11 am and 12 noon. The tickets purchased once cannot be cancelled,'' he said. Director of Postal Services K Somasundaram, Senior Post Master of Vijayawada Head Post Office M Hari Prasad, Assistant Director K Ramesh, S Ansar and other postal officials were present on the occasion.
