Jangareddygudem: Minister for Mines and Geology Peethala Sujatha said 35 temples in East and West Godavari districts would be developed at a cost of Rs 6.15 crore as part of the tourism circuit project. It has been taken up to promote temple tourism in Godavari districts keeping in view Godavari Pushkarams this year.

Speaking after launching development works at Maddi Anjaneya Swamy temple at Guravaigudem village on Tuesday, she said basic infrastructure would be created at the temples at a cost of Rs 62 lakh. The development works, including setting up of an information centre and parking place and provision of accommodation for pilgrims, would be completed within six months. The State Government had initiated several measures to boost temple tourism as it would provide employment to local youth, she said. Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation Executive Director R Amarendra, Superintending Engineer Venkateswara Rao, RDO Muralimohan Rao, temple EO Nallam Surya Chakradhara Rao, Mandal Parishad president Manikyamba, ZPTC member Seelam Ramachandra Rao, Nagar Panchayat chairperson Bangaru Sivalakshmi and others were present on the occasion.
