Smita wants to expand her beauty chain ‘Bubbles’ to Visakhapatnam. She is also starting a food business venture ‘The Food Lounge (TFL)’at Moghalrajapuram in Vijayawada soon. There are also plans to set up a school for children from the next academic year based on the Montessori school of thought.

“The Montessori education system has floored me. I believe it is the right way for the children to grow up. The school buildings are almost ready and it will start functioning from the next academic year. Our school will enroll children in the age group of 2 to 6,” she said.

Speaking about her social life, Smita said, “My album ‘Ishaana’ has brought out my hidden streak of spirituality and my image has entered a new phase. Visiting Isha Centre and meeting Sadhguru was one of the cherished moments in my life. It touched my heart. Immediately I thought of contributing to it. That is how Ishaana happened and I am happy that it has registered more than three lakh views beating Annamayya and other devotional albums.”

Smita extended her support to the BJP campaign in the general elections last year. Her ‘Wake up India’ song in support of Narendra Modi was a major part of the promotional activity of BJP. “I felt there is a definite need for a change in the governance. I came up with this single, encouraged by my mother, exhorting people to vote for change. The song has brought me wide applause that I can never forget,” she said.

Talking about how there is a bright scope for talented artists, Smita feels, “Technology has reached the sky and anything today is just a click away. I believe anything that is touching or entertaining or makes us connect will be a hit amongst the public. Luck favours new artistes because today there is no longevity to many talented artistes. Media has to rescue them.”

Smita has adopted a street near Jammi Chettu centre where she had taken up the Swachh Bharat campaign. “Everyone has to come forward to own the environment. That is when Swachh Bharat can turn into a reality. Together we can do anything. One person can never bring out a massive change. The street near Jammi Chettu centre in the city which I adopted was cleaned and heaps of garbage was removed. We worked for about a week to clear the garbage. We continue to maintain the street and keep it clean. This is how one can come out to keep their surroundings clean,'' she concluded.
