He conducted a review meeting with health officials here on Thursday.

Harinarayanan directed the senior medical officials to identify pregnant women in advance and admit them in the nearby government hospital at least three days before the due date to avoid delivery-related complications. He opined that the ANMs and the doctors must have up to date information with regard to the possibility dates of deliveries and high risk pregnancy cases. ‘Continuous monitoring of their health condition and registering all their details is also equally important’, he added. The Project Officer assuring that a separate Tribal Cell and a birth waiting room would be set up at the Government Area Hospital, Narsipatnam, asked the officials to submit necessary proposals with estimates. He also enquired about the birth waiting rooms in 24X7 PHCs, steps taken to contain Malaria in agency and availability of medicines. He directed the health officers to initiate steps for maintaining sanitation at all the PHCs.


Officials were to conduct anti-larva, fogging and spraying operation to contain mosquito menace, to pay salaries of the anti-mosquito spraying workers from the Panchayat sanitation funds and to complete the first phase of spraying operation by February.

Additional District Medical and Health Officer Dr Venkateswara Rao, senior public health officials Sujatha, Leelaprasad, Gurunadha Rao and others were present.
