Temple passes with Jesus photo causes row

Kakinada: RSS and other organisations strongly protested here on Sunday against the issue of passes on which the picture of Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy was printed on one side and the picture of Jesus Christ on the other side. They alleged that it was an attempt to propagate Christianity through the passes issued by the Endowments department for the ensuing Antarvedi Lakshminarasimha Swamy ‘Kalyanam’.
Local BJP leaders staged dharna near the temple demanding stern action against persons responsible for the printing of the passes.
The temple officials clarified that the Endowments department was not to be blamed for the row, as the passes were issued by the Revenue officials which carried the ‘offending’ photograph.
