The Andhra Pradesh Water Resources Development Corporation (APWRDC) on Monday signed a cooperation agreement with the Austrian Power and Environment Technology GmbH (APET) for implementing state-of-the art technologies in Andhra Pradesh dedicated to improving the service delivery and technological baseline of irrigation projects in the State.

Hyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh Water Resources Development Corporation (APWRDC) on Monday signed a cooperation agreement with the Austrian Power and Environment Technology GmbH (APET) for implementing state-of-the art technologies in Andhra Pradesh dedicated to improving the service delivery and technological baseline of irrigation projects in the State.

Under this agreement, the APWRDC will act as a nodal implementing agency and APET will provide training to the department to implement these technologies and provide international financing. The APWRDC and APET will work to get agriculture, irrigation, multi-modal transport systems, railways, riverfront development, water treatment and conservation, waste-to-energy and other areas under this agreement.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu expressed happiness over signing of the agreement and hoped that both sides would begin working immediately on the said projects. The agreement was signed in the presence of the Chief Minister, Minister of Irrigation and CAD Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao, Minister of Agriculture Prathipati Pulla Rao, Aditya Nath Das, MD, APWRDC & PS I&CAD.

Meanwhile, APET was represented by Mag Tino Terraneo, MD and Dr Sepp Dabringer, Former Trade Commissioner and Commercial Counselor and Shanay Hubmann, Deputy Trade Commissioner and Commercial Attaché. The signing was also attended by the Commissioner of Agriculture and Additional Secretary, Finance.
