Prominent TV9 anchor Badri died in a car accident near the Dwaraka Tirumala temple in West Godavari district near Eluru on Sunday.

The incident occured near Lakshminagar of Nallajarla mandal in the district while Badri and his family members were returning from a relative's wedding at Dwaraka tiruma temple. District police said Badri's wife , two sons and brother were injured and treated at a Eluru hospital while Badri died on the spot.

Badri's death on close heels of the AP government's drive against road accidents has come a shocker to many political leaders and the journalist community. Only two days ago, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu had directed officials to clean up the accident prone locations and remove all statues, flexis and hoardings that led to such unhappy incidents.

One of the prominolitical analysts and news anchor of the TV9 top team, Badri loss will rob the channels of good commentators on current affairs and anchor men who presented critical news developments with a balance.

Badri hails from Unguturu of West Godavari district. Badri's full name is Kalla Veerabhadrayya. He was born on April 11, 1976. He is survived by wife Lakshmi Sujatha and two sons - Sai Sathwik, Sandesh. AP CM Chandrababu Naidu condoled the demise of Badri.

Badri was young, dynamic and one of the popular news anchors of present age. He shot to fame with his style of anchoring, voice modulation. Badri's voice-overs were equally popular. The sudden demise of Badri came as a shocker to audience of the news channel and colleagues.
