Visakhapatnam: Members of the Visakha City Rickshaw Karmika Sangham staged a dharna at the Collectorate here on Monday demanding pension. “There are nearly 8,000 rickshaw workers in the city. With the advent of auto-rickshaws, they are unable to fulfil their basic needs,” Sangham president K Satyaramanjaneya said. He demanded that the government provide pensions to rickshaw workers above 60 years of age, medical treatment, identity cards for all the workers and ex-gratia for the families of the workers who died during the cyclone. Later, they submitted a memorandum to District Collector N Yuvaraj.
