A two-judge bench of the High Court at Hyderabad will now step in to adjudicate the ongoing dispute between the two States on the funds of the AP State Counsel for Higher Education. As reported earlier, the APSCHE moved the High Court questioning its accounts being frozen by the State Bank of Hyderabad allegedly at the behest of the Telangana government.

Hyderabad: A two-judge bench of the High Court at Hyderabad will now step in to adjudicate the ongoing dispute between the two States on the funds of the AP State Counsel for Higher Education. As reported earlier, the APSCHE moved the High Court questioning its accounts being frozen by the State Bank of Hyderabad allegedly at the behest of the Telangana government. Justice SV Bhatt referred the matter to the Chief Justice.

In a parallel development, the Telangana State moved a writ plea seeking to restrain the AP government and APSCHE from operating or withdrawing any amounts from the bank accounts in respect of the institutions specified in Tenth Schedule of the AP Reorganisation Act.

While the AP government contained that the decision taken by the SBH was without issuing of any notice to the party concerned and was in violation of the procedure prescribed under Section 75 of the AP Reorganisation Act. The Telangana government, in its plea, said that the funds belonged to the Telangana State Counsel of Higher Education and APSCHE was not entitled to withdraw the account.
