During the Telangana agitation between 2009 and 2014, the concern of sharing expenditure on security forces by undivided Andhra Pradesh has created yet another controversy between the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh governments.
To maintain the law and order during the agitation, the Centre had deployed a large number of security personnel and approximately Rs 1,200 crore was spent with the Centre asking Telangana to bear Rs 700 crore and Andhra Pradesh to bear Rs 500 crore.
Since the entire force was utilized in Hyderabad and Telangana districts, Andhra Pradesh has stated that Telangana must bear the expenses.
