Eluru: Andhra Pradesh Irrigation Minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao stated here on Sunday that the Chief Ministers of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana would amicably resolve the Nagarjunasagar water row in the presence of Governor E S L Narasimhan.

Speaking to the media, he said both the State governments would take decisions to ensure supply of drinking water to Hyderabad and save crops in the Krishna Delta.

The Minister hit out at YSRCP president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy for trying to rake up people’s passions by taking up fasts/tours when the State government was striving hard to provide water to Chittoor and Kadapa districts.

He admitted that the farmers in the State were experiencing problems in receiving irrigation water. The government would take steps to provide irrigation facilities for the second crop in the Krishna Delta.
Rao said that the government would implement the Pattiseema lift irrigation project to make sure the interests of farmers in West Godavari district were not affected. The tender process for the project would be completed this week, he stated.
