For spending 2 percent of their profits towards Corporate Social responsibility programs, AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has lauded the corporate houses.


Chandrababu Naidu, underscoring that AP was a good platform for all corporate houses to spend CSR funds said that only when Society around them is sound and healthy, corporate groups will flourish.


In response to Chandrababu Naidu's declaration, 105 villages are to be adopted by the Sricity SEZ in Nellore- Chittoor border area around the SEZ Srini Raju Jain education that are charging Rs 1 fee through their schools for underprivileged kids are contributing to this program by providing quality education.


As a part of their CSR activities, Coca Cola has adopted six villages in AP under the program. Vishal Ketani of Coca Cola said that the company is working on sanitation, drinking water and water management.


Bhaskar Rao Potluri, another industrialist from Andhra Chambers said that they are working on organic farming with farmers, skill development and are ready to adopt 500 villages in AP. Sudhir Aggarwal of Oracle India and Dr. Reddy’s Labs plan to work on improving livelihoods through skills development while Nuziveedu Seeds Limited intends to work on a farm-to-fork model including soil testing and agro-processing as a model on 5,000 acres of land.


For the state government’s flagship programme “Smart Village/Smart Ward” programme, Chief Minister Sri N. Chandrababu Naidu has asked the corporate houses to contribute with human interest and said that it can be done either village-wise by achieving all the 20 indicators or choose a sector/area to work on.


CM Naidu also suggested industry bodies like FICCI, FAPCCI and CII to work with communities on ground. Also, to involve entrepreneurs who can mentor localities, introduce innovations that are simple and easy to adopt.
