Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu who introduced the Railway budget has contradicted the expectations of people in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states.

No new railway zones or railway lines have been mentioned in the budget which was promised for both the states. Railway Minister has been on critical side for several leaders on making no mention of the new railway zones in the states.

Several MPs have demanded Railway zones for Tirupati and Visakha, but the demands have not been considered by the minister.

The one demand attended to by the railway ministry is the third railway line set up between Vijayawada and Kazipet. Although no specific announcement of new trains or the frequency of trains to be increased was made by Mr. Prabhu, a third railway line was proposed.

Distance between these two railway hubs is 219 km and over 50 express, daily, superfast trains connect the stations with several trains from Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry and Kerala pass through this route.
