Hyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (Eamcet) is likely to be rescheduled. The Eamcet which is scheduled to be held on May 10 is clashing with Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) and Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges Karnataka (ComedK) entrance examination, which are slated to be held on May 10.

ComedK entrance test is popular among the Telugu-speaking students and several thousands of students appear for the test every year. In view of this, the AP government is contemplating to reschedule the Eamcet slated for May 10.A senior official of Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) said a decision would be taken on Monday. Earlier, the APSCHE had announced that Eamcet would be held on May 10 for AP and Telangana states.

In the wake of bifurcation of erstwhile AP, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University-Kakinada (JNTU-K) would conduct examination. Earlier, JNTU-Hyderabad conducted in united AP state. As many as 1,65,000 seats are available in university constituent and affiliated colleges in the State. A total of 1,16,732 seats are under convener quota.Earlier State Human Resource Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao said that two lakh students are expected to take examination this year.
