YSRCP slams govt over farmers’ input subsidy.The Andhra Pradesh Assembly Friday witnessed strong protests from the main Opposition YSRCP regarding farmers’ input subsidy issue.

Hyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh Assembly Friday witnessed strong protests from the main Opposition YSRCP regarding farmers’ input subsidy issue.When Agriculture Minister Prattipati Pulla Rao replied to a question by member Y. Visweswara Reddy, the dissatisfied Opposition staged loud protests and walked out of the House.

The Minister blamed previous governments, including the then YSR government for not disbursing input subsidy to the farmers. He also said farmers’ problems were multiplied as the previous government ignored the issue of input subsidy.Later, Leader of the Opposition Y S Jaganmohan Reddy criticized the government for trying to say something about the decisions of previous governments.

But, Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao warned Jagan that he was not the competent authority to do the job of a minister, who supposed to explain to the House on the work of the government. Kodela suggested to the Leader of the Opposition to better confine to the point and directed him to make a question instead of giving prolonged speeches. But, Jagan brushed aside the suggestions of the Speaker and along with his party MLAs staged protest and then walked out of the House.The Opposition blamed the government for not implementing input subsidy to the poor farmers in the state.
