AP, Telangana set for crucial Council Polls post bifurcation

All is set for the crucial and first elections to the Legislative councils from the graduates and Teachers constituencies in both TS and AP after the bifurcation of the state.

Prominent player TNGO leader G. Deviprasad Rao as TRS candidate pitted against BJP state spokesman and advocate N Ramachandra Rao in the graduates seat of Hyd-Mah-RR seat.

In all 53 candidates who are in fray for the two graduates constituency polls in Telangana , 31 are for Hyderabad, Mahboobnagar, and Rangareddy seat and 22 for Warangal, Khammam, and Nalgonda segment. Prominent contenders are G Deviprasad Rao(TRS) and the BJP's N Ramachandra Rao, advocate for the Hyd-Mah-RR seat while E Rammohan Rao ( BJP),Dr Palle Rajeswar Reddy (TRS) for the War-Kha-Nal seat .

Similarly 21 candidates are in fray for the two Teachers constituency seats in AP including 15 for the East-West Godavari and 6 for the Krishna-Guntur seat. Prominent candidates are K VVSatyanarayana Raju of TDP for the E-W teacher's seat and Dasari Mariadas (Indian Christian secular party) for Krishna-Guntur Teachers seat.

Earlier, there were 296318 voters in the Hyd-Mah-RR graduates segment and 281138 voters in the Warangal-Khamm-Nalgonda seat. Nearly 836 polling stations were spruced for voting in both seats (436 in Hyd-Mah-Rr).

Similarly, there were 215551 voters in the East-West Godavari teachers segment with 117 polling stations and 110 polling stations for 18931 voters in the Krishna-Guntur teachers segment.

The contest is keen in the Telangana elections with the BJP and TRS fighting fiercely to establish their hegemony in the educated voters segment.
