We all know how maverick and witty and also mercurial the BJP leader Venkaiah Naidu is. The man who a week ago expressed doubts over future of Special Status for AP, is now says that everything is smooth and Special Status is to be declared shortly.


Unable to face the heat from NDA partner Telugu Desam Party and the opposition Congress over denying special status to Andhra Pradesh, BJP's Union Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu claimed on Thursday that the issue of special status is still under consideration of the Center.


After a BJP delegation from the state led by him met Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh in Parliament on Thursday, Venkaiah Naidu said the issue was still open. ‘Rajnath ji told us that the chapter of special status for AP is not closed, but under review and consideration,’ says Venkaiah Naidu.


Except Venkaiah Naidu, the BJP delegation later met National Party President Amit Shah and stressed for the implementation of the promises made in Parliament under the AP Reorganization Act, 2014.


The BJP is said to reconsidering and reorienting its approach towards the Special Status issue after the Congress leader Sonia Gandhi slammed the NDA and BJP for not fulfilling the promises made on the floor of the parliament.
