Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu on Saturday launched 400 channels by Nellore-based ACT City Group (Nellore TV), marking its expansion in the broadcasting field, to coincide with the Ugadi festival here, and offer of digital technology to consumers.

Nellore: Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu on Saturday launched 400 channels by Nellore-based ACT City Group (Nellore TV), marking its expansion in the broadcasting field, to coincide with the Ugadi festival here, and offer of digital technology to consumers.

The Minister praised the group headed by Sundar Raju, chairman, for its determination to provide “reliable” and “satisfactory” digital services to people as part of the national goal of achieving digital revolution. He exhorted the organisers to remain “impartial “and spread to all districts.

Speaking at the function organised in PVR Function Hall, Sundar Raju stated that the group was striving to get closer to the people by offering digital services. It would provide internet and cable connectivity to every house with the aim of securing 80 per cent cable network in Nellore district.

The group’s aim, Raju said, was to gain confidence of the people in social and service sectors, without giving importance to profit motive. Nellore ACT division managing director Siva kumar explained the activities of the group, including its expansion and services to the people. Operations head B V Subba Rao assured the gathering that the ACT Group services would be in consonance with the wishes of the people.Nellore MLC Vakati Narayana Reddy, former MLA M Sridhar Krishna Reddy, several City corporators and MSOs attended the function.
