Christians call for action to end attacks.Leaders of Christian Minorities met the Anantapur MLA V Prabhakar Chowdary here on Sunday and urged him to raise the issue of growing attacks on Christians and the injustice being meted out to them.
Anantapur: Leaders of Christian Minorities met the Anantapur MLA V Prabhakar Chowdary here on Sunday and urged him to raise the issue of growing attacks on Christians and the injustice being meted out to them.
District Christian Minority leaders led by Ete Swamy Doss and Bangi Naik met Chowdary and handed him over the copies of Government GOs pertaining to the sanctioning of funds for the construction of Churches in the district.
Swam Doss said though construction of churches were going on from 2007, the government sanctioned funds for the construction of only 32 churches. He reminded the MLA that the previous Congress government had issued a GO in which it stated that 10 per cent of the funds should be repaid for building the churches but no such condition was incorporated for the construction of mosques.
They wanted this clause to be scrapped.The MLA promised to raise the issue in the Assembly. Christian leaders Devadanam, Bojappa, Anji Alex, Pradeep, Mani and Naveen were present.
