YSRCP withdraws no trust notice
YSR Congress Party on Friday withdrew the notice for no-confidence motion against Assembly Speaker K Sivaprasada Rao. As a result, the special session that has been convened for April 4 stands cancelled. During confabulations that the YSRCP held with the BJP leaders, the latter advised that it would be in the fitness of things to withdraw the notice as no-confidence move should always be used as a last resort.

As a result, the special session that has been convened for April 4 stands cancelled. During confabulations that the YSRCP held with the BJP leaders, the latter advised that it would be in the fitness of things to withdraw the notice as no-confidence move should always be used as a last resort.
Respecting their views, YSRCP leader Y S Jaganmohan Reddy said that his party had full faith in the Speaker and held him in high respect. Later, he sought the permission of the House to withdraw the motion. While seeking the Speaker’s permission, Jagan reminded the House that that the YSRCP had supported and facilitated the unanimous election of the Speaker. However, even on this occasion, he sought to take a dig at Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu saying that he was not aware if Naidu had ever escorted the newly elected Speaker to the chair or not, but he did so.
This remark invited criticism from the ruling party members. They felt in the lobbies that Jagan should first do some home work before criticising the leader of the house. Naidu, they said, had escorted Nadendla Manohar when he was elected as the Speaker. Jagan noted they just had 67 MLAs in the Assembly and they were well aware of the fate of the motion. Yet, they wanted to record their views that they were not getting enough time to express their opinion on various subjects on the floor of the house.
