AP advocates suspend strike.With the favourable response from the Union government on setting up of Andhra Pradesh High Court in that State, the Andhra Pradesh Advocates Joint Action Committee (JAC) has suspended the agitation till a final decision to be taken at Kadapa on April 5.

Hyderabad: With the favourable response from the Union government on setting up of Andhra Pradesh High Court in that State, the Andhra Pradesh Advocates Joint Action Committee (JAC) has suspended the agitation till a final decision to be taken at Kadapa on April 5.
Speaking to media persons here, Advocates JAC leader and AP Bar Council member Muppalla Subba Rao said the Andhra Pradesh advocates boycotted courts from March 23 to 27 demanding that the Centre set up a separate High Court in Andhra Pradesh as the State advocates, judges and even litigants were feeling insecure in the joint capital due to the agitation by Telangana advocates, who were resorting to attacks on their Andhra counterparts raising “Andhras Go Back” slogans.
They were feeling that they were being treated as second-rate citizens in Hyderabad by the Telangana advocates, he said.Subba Rao said that the AP Advocates JAC members had called on Union Ministers Sadananda Gowda and M Venkaiah Naidu and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu earlier and urged them to take immediate steps to set up a High Court in Andhra Pradesh and make efforts to secure Central funds for the same.
They also urged them to see that Andhra Pradesh was granted special status and the Governor take up responsibility of maintaining law and order in the joint capital as enshrined in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act of 2014, he added.After hearing the advocates of both the States, the Union Ministers assured that they would take measures to set up new High Court for Andhra Pradesh within three months provided land and infrastructure facilities were shown.
Subba Rao also said they had also called on Chief Justice of India H L Dattu and apprised him of their problems in the joint capital. With the favourable response from the Centre and the Supreme Court Chief Justice on setting up of separate High Court in Andhra Pradesh, they decided to suspend their agitation and would take a final decision at a meeting to be held in Kadapa on April 5, he added.
