Speaking to the media here on Sunday, he described the allegations against him hurled by A C Subba Reddy and Anam Vivekananda Reddy as baseless and challenged them to prove the allegations. He wondered as to how an MLA belonging to the Opposition party could indulge in illegal sand quarrying.

Sridhar Reddy said he had already submitted a memorandum to the District Collector, Superintendent of Police and also met the Chief Minister and the Minister for Mining and explained to them about the smuggling of sand which was going on in the district unabated. He said that the Superintendent of Police had conducted raids at Pottipalem sand reaches only after he brought it to his notice.

The MLA said he took up developmental activities in the district with his salary and funds allotted for his constituency and advised Anam and Subba Reddy not to make irresponsible and controversial statements. He said several philanthropists were coming forward to offer donations to take up development works as he enjoyed lot of goodwill among them. Sridhar Reddy expressed satisfaction over the scrapping of the toll plaza on the National highway to collect toll tax from the people of the district.

He said he had prevailed upon the Transport Minister S Raghava Rao to get the toll plaza abolished. He said that the CPI-M leaders and Lorry Owners Association had played a key role in its abolition. The MLA said that the TDP MLAs, when they were in the Opposition used to rush to the podium of the Assembly and create pandemonium and it was not a new tradition introduced by the YSR Congress Party.

He said that he was pained by the way the ruling TDP MLAs treated the YSRCP MLAs. Sridhar Reddy said that he would always remain in the forefront to take up development activities in his constituency. Several YSRCP corporators and leaders were present on the occasion.
