Hilarious translation in AP, TS websites.These websites also seem to have created a new post for the officers known as “Ummadi Collector” (Combined Collector). This is the Telugu translation they have given for the designation of Joint Collector.
Hyderabad: The agencies, which have created the websites for Anantapur, Chittoor and Kadapa districts in Andhra Pradesh and Ranga Reddy, Khammam and Medak districts in Telangana State, have provided unprecedented humour to both Telugu States. Some of the translated versions are so hilarious that it is very difficult not to laugh out loud. “ORGANOGRAM” that gives the information on the administrative structure of these districts has changed the Telugu equals of English words. Even the name of the Organogram which means organisational graph has become “Organ Gram,” in Telugu.
These websites also seem to have created a new post for the officers known as “Ummadi Collector” (Combined Collector). This is the Telugu translation they have given for the designation of Joint Collector. The actual designation in Telugu should read “Samyukta Jilla Palana Adhikari.Similarly, (Citizenship Charter) has become “Paurasatvam Yokka Charter.” What is most hilarious is Flagship programme becomes “Janda Ship Karyakramam.”
These are a few of the swings and sways of the hilarious translation nay mistranslation that the browsers have come across the Telugu version websites of these districts. While on the main menu of the site the Home turns out to be “Hoom” and under the “RTI” tab, the “RTI Salient Features” is translated as “Samachara Hakku Sarihaddu.” Under the District Administration of the Anantapur district website, ‘Know Your Joint Collector” has been translated as “Mee Ummadi Collector.”
That is not just the end of it. “Tender Notices” in the English menu of the websites has been translated as “Letha Notices.” The other bloomers include “Audit Matha for “Pay Fixation”, “Kottha Choravalu” for “New Initiatives” and “Charjeela Dukanalu” for “Fair Price Shops.” The websites also seems to have given new powers to the three district collectors in AP. According to the website these three collectors are the authority for assignment of government lands/ Surplus Lands/House sites in Chevella, Vikarabad, Hayatnagar and Uppal. These places are part of Telangana State.
