Hyderabad: BJP National Executive member Perala Chandrashekar Rao, 54, has vowed to make saffron party a force to reckon with in both Telugu speaking states. As the newly appointed national vice-president of the Nehru Yuva Kendra Sanghatan (NYKS), an initiative of Government of India, he resolved to tour extensively in districts of both the states to empower youth with skill development and entrepreneurship.BJP and ABVP cadre of Telangana and AP units felicitated Chandrashekar Rao, fondly addressed as Shekarji, at a programme held here on Sunday.
Union Minister of State for Labour Bandaru Dattatreya, AP Endowments Minister Manikyala Rao, TDP Floor Leader in Assembly Errabelli Dayakar Rao, BJP MLAs Kishan Reddy, Dr K Laxman, Chintala Ramachandra Reddy as well as national leader P Muralidhar Rao, former minister Kanna Lakshminarayana among others attended.Speaking on the occasion, Shekharji thanked BJP national president Amit Shah and PM Narendra Modi for entrusting him with a key post in NYKS. He explained that he would strive to establish atleast 500 youth clubs in each district which would be later linked with NYKS.
“The two slogans for which I worked for four decades in my association with ABVP and BJP are-“Bharat Mata Ki Jai and Vande Maataram,” he said.Speaking earlier, Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya felt that Shekarji was a good example of recognition by the party after putting in dedicated service for years together. For the last 40 years, he did not move even an inch away from his ideology and commitment to the party and nation despite several hurdles, Dattatraya lauded.
BJP national leader P Muralidhar Rao stated that Shekarji has good association with BJP and ABVP cadre in both TS and AP states. He worked for a long period in Warangal and Nellore units. Also, he was instrumental in making BJP a key player in Northeastern states particularly Assam, Muralidhar Rao said.Besides main leaders, Shekarji’s associates and colleagues for the last three decades, descended in big numbers for the programme to felicitate him.
