Addressing a review meeting on the arrangements for Godavari Pushkarams at the secretariat today, the Chief Minister urged officials to spread the message of holistic and sacred importance and to instill the sacred feeling towards Godavari River among people.
Adding that the government is keen on interlinking of rivers, the Chief Minister said that Godavari will be linked to Krishna River and Krishna River to Penna in order to make Andhra Pradesh a completely drought-free state. He directed officials to formulate Pushkarams committee in every village and ensure holy Godavari water to various temples in the state.
Godavari Pushkarams Committee Chairman Dr. Parakala Prabhakar said as part of the ancient tradition of carrying Godavari river water in a Kavadi to the temple, a ‘Kavadi Mela’ would also be organized.
