Satyam’s former chairman Ramalinga Raju has appealed to court for relief in punishment.

In a four page letter to the CBI court a few minutes before the judgement was being delivered the Satyam scam accused had pleaded that he had already gone through 33 months jail life as an under trial and hence he should be shown pity and mercy as a sick person and also one who had contributed to society through various social service activities.

Ramalinga Raju cited the ISB, the EMRI, 108 and 104 emergency services launched by the Satyam during his tenure. He cited the example of taking care of aged parents, wife and children in the letter.
