Union health minister and BJP state affairs in-charge J.P. Nadda on Sunday said that the Central government has not backtracked on the special status to Andhra Pradesh and as for special status accordance, AP will be handed more benefits in the form of tax exemptions and financial assistance.

Union health minister and BJP state affairs in-charge J.P. Nadda on Sunday said that the Central government has not backtracked on the special status to Andhra Pradesh and as for special status accordance, AP will be handed more benefits in the form of tax exemptions and financial assistance.


Mr Nadda said that Special status is just a term and that the Centre will do much more for the state.


With the Centre already sanctioning financial assistance for the AP Capital construction, Mr Nadda said that work on the Polavaram project will be expedited along with premier institutions like IIM, IIT for which foundation has already been set will come up.


The Union minister added that the Centre is committed to development of AP and the promises, assurances given by leaders; setting up 6,500 MW power plants has been sanctioned already by the Centre to make AP a 24x7 power state.
