Says Pattiseema project will benefit people of Rayalaseema

Kadapa: Telugu Desam Party Workers’ Welfare Fund convener Nara Lokesh said Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu took up the Pattiseema project to provide water for drinking and irrigation purposes of Rayalaseema people. Addressing the TDP activists during his one-day visit to the district here on Wednesday, Lokesh said the YSR Congress Party (Pilla Congress), which has been raising a voice dissent against Pattiseema, would be wiped out from the State once the Pattiseema project was completed.

Lokesh said the leaders of the YSR Congress should realise that the Pattiseema project was undertaken with good intension of providing water for the Rayalaseema region and they should also cooperate in completing the project on time. Otherwise, Leader of Opposition YS Jaganmohan Reddy would end up in hurting the interests of the Rayalaseema people, he added.During his one-day visit to the district, Nara Lokesh visited Railway Kodur, Vontimitta, Porumamilla, Badwel and Brahmamgari Matham mandals.

He was received with a rousing welcome by the people, TDP leaders and activists. He also visited the Kodandarama Swamy temple where he was garlanded and felicitated with a shawl by a large number of TDP members. Executive Officer of the Kodandarama Swamy Temple Shankar Balaji and Temple Veera Raghavacharyulu presented Lokesh with the portrait of Lord Rama along with Muthyala Talambralu.

Later, Lokesh went to Badwel and garlanded the statue of former minister late B Veera Reddy at the junction and paid glowing tributes to him. At Kesavapuram, Lokesh visited the bereaved family of TDP activist S Bayapu Reddy, who was killed in an accident and consoled the family. He also handed over some money to them from the TDP Welfare Fund.

Addressing the gathering, he said that the Pattiseema project was highly beneficial to the farmers of the region and it would in no way hamper the works relating to the Polavaram project and the state government was ready to complete the Polavaram project would be completed in a phased manner. Lokesh said the State government was implementing several welfare programmes and the TDP activists should highlight them and spread the message among people.
