The committee said that a huge drop has been witnessed in the number of passengers from AP to cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad after the bifurcation leading to the numbers decrease of 60-70 lakhs affecting the revenue. With the road transport back to normal working condition, both the states governments have got stabilized and have further impacted the Railways revenue.
Also, the vehicle loans are said to be behind the loss of revenues for Railways with around 1.3 million passengers lost in the recently concluded fiscal year stated a committee member.
