AP Government received a setback in the land pooling after the Capital region farmers approached High Court to seek their lands even though they signed the agreements.

Now, AP Government decided to collect the land for the Capital City construction through land acquisition act. The Chandrababu Naidu government is expected to issue notification on May 14 for land acquisition covering the villages in Guntur District - Rayapudi, Penumaka, Undavalli, Nidamarru and Betampudi.

So far, 33,000 acres of land has been pooled by the AP Capital Region Development Region (CRDA) officials and 10,700 acres of land has been acquired with agreements signed by the farmers. With over 300 farmers approaching the High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad to seek their lands back, the possibility of complete agreements from the farmers before May 15 is remote.
