Nellore girl chooses step mother over mom

In a surprising state of events, a 15-year-old girl from Nellore chose her step mother over her biological mother who had abandoned her when she was one year old.

The girl brought up by her father who is an RTC employee and his second wife at Vasili village in Atmakur mandal in Nellore believed that her step mother was her own mother. But recent events where her father named his two daughters (another daughter from second marriage) as nominees for receiving his retirement benefits from the RTC changed the course.

When the first wife who deserted her husband years ago came to know that money was to come her daughter’s way, she demanded custody of her daughter arguing that she should be the guardian of her daughter as she was a minor.

Eventually she approached the Atmakur police alleging that her husband’s family was trying to get the minor girl married off against her will. However, police understood the real issue and in a bid to settle the matter, Sub Inspector Venugopal Reddy asked the 15 year old to have a chat with her biological mother.

The girl however after the discussion chose to remain with her step mother even through valiant efforts from her biological mother.
